Uganda lawmakers remove death penalty clause from anti-gay bill
Proponents of the anti-homosexuality bill plan to push ahead with it despite international criticism. It may be debated in a special session Friday.
President Obama had called the proposed law odious. The bill's author, David Bahati, says the death penalty (for consensual gay sex) has been removed from the bill. But a landlord could still face seven years in prison for renting to a gay person.
